Blood splatters and seeps across the ground. My blood. It was like vomiting, only instead of throwing up the contents in my stomach, it was blood from a torn stomach. It chokes me, fills my head with a sickening numbness, and then there’s the pain, inescapable pain. From the core, a swelling, aching brokenness spreads into my being, with every movement seemingly tearing a larger wound inside me. My vision blurs, the world around me merging into one another. Reality seamlessly slips my grasp, my mind disconnecting as my body retches instinctively. The only thing preventing me from disappearing is the person standing beside me.
